The Netherlands Board of Tourism and Conventions (NBTC), KLM, Amsterdam Marketing and Schiphol recently launched a joint Holland promotion initiative in Brazil. The parties have committed themselves for three years, similar to the successful Holland Alliances in Russia and China.
The aim of the cooperation is to promote ‘Holland’ as a destination and encourage Brazilian tourists to visit the Netherlands. Holland Alliance marketing activities are focusing on the cities of Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
At the moment, KLM operates ten direct flights a week from Amsterdam to Brazil. In order to effectively target promotion in these regions, the Brazilian website will go live at the end of September and marketing activities will also be launched on Brazilian social media sites.
In addition, a sales mission to Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro scheduled for November plans to explore possibilities for cooperation with tour operators and travel agents.
