The Economic Activity Indicator of Fundação Getulio Vargas (IAE-FGV) – Final Result points to a growth of 2.8% in the economy in July, compared to June, and a retraction of 4.3% in the moving quarter, which ended in July, compared to the moving quarter ended in April.
In the year-over-year comparison, there was a 6.3% decline in economic activity in July and a 9% decrease in the moving quarter ended in July. According to FGV, despite being very negative results, they are better than the variations observed in June. With these results, the rate accumulated in 12 months until July was minus 2.8% and the accumulated in the year up to July minus 5.8%.
The IAE-FGV is an indicator that anticipates the trend of the Brazilian economy from the release of three versions based on the release of the main monthly activity surveys released by IBGE. The main information for updating the indicator is the Monthly Industrial Survey – Physical Production (PIM-PF); the Monthly Commerce Survey (PMC), and the Monthly Survey of Services (PMS).

O Indicador de Atividade Econômica da Fundação Getulio Vargas (IAE-FGV) – Resultado Final aponta crescimento de 2,8% da economia em julho, em comparação a junho, e retração de 4,3% no trimestre móvel, que terminou em julho, em comparação ao trimestre móvel findo em abril.
Na comparação interanual foi registrada retração de 6,3% da atividade econômica em julho e recuo de 9% no trimestre móvel findo em julho. Segundo a FGV, apesar de serem resultados muito negativos, são melhores do que as variações observadas em junho. Com esses resultados, a taxa acumulada em 12 meses até julho foi de menos 2,8% e o acumulado no ano até julho de menos 5,8%.
O IAE-FGV é um indicador que antecipa a tendência da economia brasileira a partir da divulgação de três versões com base na divulgação das principais pesquisas mensais de atividade divulgadas pelo IBGE. As principais informações para a atualização do indicador são a Pesquisa Industrial Mensal – Produção Física (PIM-PF); a Pesquisa Mensal de Comércio (PMC), e a Pesquisa Mensal de Serviços (PMS).
