Office partners with World Economic Forum

The governor of São Paulo João Doria announced on Wednesday (21) the creation of the Center for the 4th Industrial Revolution, at the Institute of Technological Research (IPT), in São Paulo. The office facility is a partnership between the state government, the Ministry of Economy and the World Economic Forum (WEF), which signed an agreement yesterday.

“The Center will outline and develop innovative policies. As part of the Forum’s global network, teams will exchange knowledge and scale learning globally,” said Marisol Argueta de Barillas, Latin America director and board member of the World Economic Forum.

“The 4th Industrial Revolution is a theme that meets very well the expectations of the Brazilian government and fully the expectations of the government of the state of Sao Paulo,” said Doria, at the Bandeirantes Palace. The creation of the unit in the country will also be officially made at the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos, January 2020, and the inauguration of the space in São Paulo will take place during the World Economic Forum for Latin America, in May 2020.

According to the state government, with the measure, Brazil joins a network dedicated to global technology governance with China, Japan, India, Colombia, Israel, United Arab Emirates and the United States – countries where there is already such a center for research and global technology governance dedicated to the 4th Industrial Revolution.

“To achieve impact and drive change in the context of the 4th Industrial Revolution, it is important to connect government, business organizations, startups, civil society, academia and international organizations to devise smart and innovative policies,” said State Secretary Economic Development, Patricia Ellen. . For the state government, the initiative is aligned with the goal of stimulating innovation and entrepreneurship.

The IPT, linked to the state’s Department of Economic Development, recently opened its campus so that private companies can work together with startups, clients, suppliers, researchers, investors and government agencies.

Escritório tem parceria com o Fórum Econômico Mundial

O governador paulista João Doria anunciou nesta quarta-feira (21) a criação do Centro para a 4ª Revolução Industrial, no Instituto de Pesquisas Tecnológicas (IPT), na capital São Paulo. A instalação do escritório é uma parceria entre governo do estado, Ministério da Economia e Fórum Econômico Mundial (WEF), que assinaram termo de compromisso hoje.

“O Centro irá traçar e pilotar políticas inovadoras. Como parte da rede global do Fórum, as equipes irão trocar conhecimento e escalar os aprendizados globalmente”, disse Marisol Argueta de Barillas, diretora para América Latina e membro do Conselho de Administração do Fórum Econômico Mundial.

“A 4ª Revolução Industrial é um tema que atende muitíssimo bem às expectativas do governo brasileiro e plenamente às expectativas do governo do estado de São Paulo”, disse Doria, no Palácio dos Bandeirantes. A criação da unidade no país será feita oficialmente também no encontro anual do Fórum Econômico Mundial, em Davos, em janeiro de 2020, e a inauguração do espaço na capital paulista ocorrerá durante o Fórum Econômico Mundial para a América Latina, em maio de 2020.

De acordo com o governo estadual, com a medida, o Brasil se insere na rede dedicada à governança global de tecnologia junto à China, Japão, Índia, Colômbia, Israel, Emirados Árabes e Estados Unidos – países onde já existe um centro nesses moldes, de pesquisa e governança global de tecnologia dedicado à 4ª Revolução Industrial.

“Para alcançar o impacto e impulsionar a mudança no contexto da 4ª Revolução Industrial, é importante conectar governo, organizações empresariais, startups, sociedade civil, academia e organizações internacionais para elaborar políticas inteligentes e inovadoras”, disse a Secretária Estadual Desenvolvimento Econômico, Patrícia Ellen. Para o governo estadual, a iniciativa está alinhada com o objetivo de estimular a inovação e o empreendedorismo.

O IPT, vinculado à Secretaria de Desenvolvimento Econômico do estado, abriu recentemente seu campus para que empresas privadas possam trabalhar em conjunto com startups, clientes, fornecedores, pesquisadores, investidores e órgãos governamentais.
