The Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) and the Ministry of Infrastructure (MInfra) signed last Monday (22) a Technical Cooperation Agreement to increase the attraction of foreign direct investments (FDI) for the infrastructure sector. The partnership will help reinforce Brazil’s position as a safe and reliable destination for FDI.
The agreement was signed by Apex-Brasil’s Business and Corporate Management Directors, Augusto Pestana and Edervaldo Teixeira, and by the Executive Secretary of MInfra, Marcelo Sampaio. The document provides for the development of activities based on the following structural pillars: intelligence, promotion and facilitation of foreign investments.
According to Pestana, the formatting of structured joint actions can collaborate so that more and more foreign investors are aware of the opportunities in infrastructure in Brazil. “In this area, the participation of Apex-Brasil in promoting the projects of the Ministry of Infrastructure adds positively, since the Agency has the expertise in promoting and facilitating the attraction of foreign investments to Brazil,” he explained.
For Sampaio, the agreement brings a series of important innovations. “The big word today is integration. It is a way to reinforce good practices and move forward on this joint agenda, ”he said.
The rapprochement between Apex-Brasil and MInfra will make it possible to coordinate the work of attracting FDI in infrastructure, capable of generating results with greater impact and offering a standardized and continuous service to foreign investors. It will also strengthen Apex-Brasil’s image as a one-stop shop for foreign investors and the positioning of MInfra as a reference for infrastructure investment opportunities in Brazil.

Apex-Brasil e Ministério da Infraestrutura formam parceria para atrair mais investimentos estrangeiros
A Agência Brasileira de Promoção de Exportações e Investimentos (Apex-Brasil) e o Ministério da Infraestrutura (MInfra) assinaram na última segunda-feira (22) um Acordo de Cooperação Técnica (ACT) para incrementar a atração de investimentos estrangeiros diretos (IED) para o setor de infraestrutura. A parceria ajudará a reforçar o posicionamento do Brasil como destino seguro e confiável para IED.
O ACT foi firmado pelos Diretores de Negócios e de Gestão Corporativa da Apex-Brasil, Augusto Pestana e Edervaldo Teixeira, e pelo Secretário-Executivo do MInfra, Marcelo Sampaio. O documento prevê o desenvolvimento de atividades a partir dos seguintes pilares estruturantes: inteligência, promoção e facilitação de investimentos estrangeiros.
Segundo Pestana, a formatação de ações conjuntas estruturadas pode colaborar para que cada vez mais investidores estrangeiros conheçam as oportunidades em infraestrutura no Brasil. “Nesta seara, a participação da Apex-Brasil na promoção dos projetos do Ministério da Infraestrutura agrega positivamente, uma vez que a Agência possui a expertise na promoção e na facilitação da atração de investimentos estrangeiros para o Brasil”, explicou.
Para Sampaio, o acordo traz uma série de inovações importantes. “A grande palavra hoje é integração. É uma forma de reforçarmos as boas práticas e avançar nessa agenda conjunta”, afirmou.
A aproximação entre a Apex-Brasil e o MInfra possibilitará a coordenação do trabalho de atração de IED em infraestrutura, capaz de gerar resultados de maior impacto e oferecer serviço padronizado e contínuo ao investidor estrangeiro. Fortalecerá, também, a imagem da Apex-Brasil como one-stop shop para investidores estrangeiros e o posicionamento do MInfra como referência de oportunidades de investimentos em infraestrutura no Brasil.
