The Brazilian trade balance registered a surplus of US$ 1.102 billion in the second week of October, according to a preliminary bulletin released by the Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex), linked to the Ministry of Economy.
The value is the result of exports totaling US$ 6.183 billion and imports of US$ 5.081 billion. In the month, exports reached US$7.899 billion and imports, US$5.971 billion, with a positive balance of US$1.929 billion.
According to Secex, exports totaled US$ 221.25 billion in the year and imports, US$ 162.746 billion, with a positive balance of US$ 58.504 billion. The current balance of trade totaled US$ 383.996 billion.
In the average comparison between the second week of October 2021 (US$ 1,316.53 million) and that of October 2020 (US$ 882.47 million), there was a growth of 49.2%. Regarding imports, there was an expansion of 50.3% in the comparison between the averages up to the second week of October/2021 (US$ 995.11 million) with October/2020 (US$ 662.27 million).
Numbers by sectors
The numbers were released last Monday (11) in Brasília. Among the sectors, the highlight was the Extractive Industry, with an increase in the daily average of US$ 117.66 million (52.9%) in the accumulated up to the second week of the month, compared to the same period in the previous year. The Manufacturing Industry reached a growth of US$ 251.37 million (48.8%) in products and Agriculture had an expansion of US$ 63.76 million (45.6%) in the daily average.
Secex reported that the combination of results led to an increase in exports. This movement was mainly driven by the growth of soybeans, in Agriculture (+186.6% with an increase of US$ 82.63 million in the daily average); crude oils from petroleum or bituminous minerals, crude (+201.7% with an increase of US$ 127.36 million in the daily average), in the Extractive Industry; and, in the Manufacturing Industry, from the export of petroleum fuel oils or bituminous minerals (except crude oils) (+584.5% with an expansion of US$ 56.42 million in the daily average).
Imports
In the accumulated up to the second week of October, compared to October 2020, the performance of the sectors according to the daily average was as follows: growth of US$ 7.18 million (41.0%) in Agriculture; US$ 25.24 million (134.1%) in Extractive Industry and US$ 287.07 million (46.5%) in Manufacturing Industry products.
For Secex, the combination of results also led to an increase in imports. The highlights were unground corn, except for sweet corn (+ 560.3% with an increase of US$ 7.01 million in the daily average); crude oils from petroleum or bituminous minerals, crude (+483.0% with an increase of US$23.77 million in the daily average); and in imports of Fertilizers or chemical fertilizers (except raw fertilizers) (+209.0% with an increase of US$ 75.39 million in the daily average).

Brasil: Balança comercial tem superávit de US$ 1,102 bi no início de outubro
A balança comercial brasileira registrou superávit de US$ 1,102 bilhão na segunda semana de outubro, segundo boletim preliminar divulgado pela Secretaria de Comércio Exterior (Secex), ligada ao Ministério da Economia. 
O valor é resultado de exportações somando US$ 6,183 bilhões e importações de US$ 5,081 bilhões. No mês, as exportações atingem US$ 7,899 bilhões e as importações, US$ 5,971 bi, com saldo positivo de US$ 1,929 bilhão.
Segundo a Secex, no ano as exportações totalizam US$ 221,25 bilhões e as importações, US$ 162,746 bilhões, com saldo positivo de US$ 58,504 bilhões. A balança corrente de comércio somou US$ 383,996 bilhões.
No comparativo médio entre a segunda semana de outubro de 2021 (US$ 1.316,53 milhão) e a de outubro de 2020 (US$ 882,47 milhões), houve crescimento de 49,2%. Em relação às importações, houve expansão de 50,3% na comparação entre as médias até a segunda semana de outubro/2021 (US$ 995,11 milhões) com outubro/2020 (US$ 662,27 milhões).
Números por setores
Os números foram divulgados na ´¨última segunda-feira (11) em Brasília. Entre os setores, o destaque ficou com a Indústria Extrativa, com alta na média diária de US$ 117,66 milhões (52,9%) no acumulado até a segunda semana do mês, comparando com igual período no mês do ano anterior. A Indústria de Transformação atingiu crescimento de US$ 251,37 milhões (48,8%) em produtos e a Agropecuária teve expansão de US$ 63,76 milhões (45,6%) na média diária.
A Secex informou que a combinação dos resultados levou a um aumento das exportações. Esse movimento foi puxado, principalmente, pelo crescimento da soja, na Agropecuária, (+186,6% com aumento de US$ 82,63 milhões na média diária); óleos brutos de petróleo ou de minerais betuminosos, crus (+201,7% com aumento de US$ 127,36 milhões na média diária), na Indústria Extrativa; e, na Indústria de Transformação, da exportação de óleos combustíveis de petróleo ou de minerais betuminosos (exceto óleos brutos) (+584,5% com expansão de US$ 56,42 milhões na média diária).
Importações
No acumulado até a segunda semana de outubro, comparando com outubro de 2020, o desempenho dos setores pela média diária foi o seguinte: crescimento de US$ 7,18 milhões (41,0%) em Agropecuária; de US$ 25,24 milhões (134,1%) em Indústria Extrativa e de US$ 287,07 milhões (46,5%) em produtos da Indústria de Transformação.
Para a Secex, a combinação dos resultados também levou a um crescimento das importações. Os destaques ficaram para o milho não moído, exceto milho doce (+ 560,3% com alta de US$ 7,01 milhões na média diária); óleos brutos de petróleo ou de minerais betuminosos, crus (+483,0% com aumento de US$ 23,77 milhões na média diária); e nas importações de Adubos ou fertilizantes químicos (exceto fertilizantes brutos) (+209,0% com alta de US$ 75,39 milhões na média diária).
