In a ceremony at the Palace of Esmeraldas, Governor Marconi Perillo (PSDB) and the President of Heineken Brazil, Didier Debrosse, signed memorandum of understanding to set up a factory in Itumbiara, with investment of R $ 650 million and generating 650 jobs direct and indirect.
According Debrosse, it is the largest investment company in the country, which has units in other states and will invest R $ 1 billion in Brazil by 2018, added value in Goiás and the application in the expansion of other units installed in São Paulo and Paraná.
Debrosse said that Heineken is the 3rd largest brewer in the world, created 150 years ago in Holland and brought to Brazil in 2010. Today, it operates 165 breweries in more than 70 countries.
The unit of Itumbiara, which should start producing in 2018, will have a production capacity of 3.5 million hectoliters per year. The unit will begin to be built on Tuesday (10/11) and must be delivered in almost two years. According to the company, the initial focus of production will be the brands Heineken, Kaiser, Kaiser Radler, Sun Premium, Bavaria and Desperados.

Marconi recalled that, on a trade mission to Europe, visited for 12 days at the company’s headquarters in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and formalized the invitation to the industry to establish itself in Goiás.
