The president of the Brazilian National Industry Confederation (CNI), Robson Braga de Andrade, considers that the implementation of the 5G network is an essential condition for the advancement of Industry 4.0 in the country. The statement was made last week in a panel on reindustrialization that took place at the National Meeting of the Construction Industry (ENIC).
“It is essential that we have the 5G network installed in Brazil. Without that, we will not be able to advance in automation and digitization”, he emphasized.
According to Robson Andrade, investment in new technology will need to be speedy, at the risk of the Brazilian industry losing even more competitiveness in the international and domestic markets.
“We argue that 5G technology is not one. We can have private network and public network. If we do not invest in modernizing the industry and Brazilian companies, we will be out of the market”, he said.
“We need this to not only export, but mainly to compete within Brazil with our main competitors,” he added.
For the president of CNI, investments in innovation, technology and the qualification of professionals must be seen by governments as a priority. According to Robson Andrade, there is no possibility of creating a strong and large country without innovation.
“For this, we rely on the strength of the construction industry, which is fundamental for economic growth, but also for people’s health and the country’s sustainable development,” he said.
Tax reform will bring legal certainty to attract investments
During the panel, which also had the presence of the president of the Brazilian Chamber of the Construction Industry (CBIC), José Carlos Martins, and the director of the company Vértice Engenharia, Elson Ribeiro e Povoa, the president of CNI emphasized the importance of the Legislative Power approve the tax reform.
“We want a tax reform, as well as the federal government, the state governments and the National Congress. The reform will bring legal certainty, attract investments and result in the growth of the industry”, highlighted Robson Andrade.
The CNI president noted, however, that there is a need for sectors to forgo immediate benefits and think of a country agenda for tax reform to move forward.
“The states are out of place. There can be no increase in tax. Of course, there will be losers and winners, but we need to look at Brazil as a whole. We can lose a little today to win tomorrow”, said Robson Andrade.

Rede 5G será fundamental para o Brasil avançar na automação e digitalização
O presidente da Confederação Nacional da Indústria (CNI), Robson Braga de Andrade, considera que a implantação da rede 5G é condição imprescindível para o avanço da Indústria 4.0 no país. A afirmação foi feita na última semana em painel sobre reindustrialização ocorrido no Encontro Nacional da Indústria da Construção (ENIC).
“É fundamental que tenhamos a rede 5G instalada no Brasil. Sem isso não teremos como avançar na automação e na digitalização”, enfatizou.
De acordo com Robson Andrade, o investimento na nova tecnologia precisará ser célere, sob o risco de a indústria brasileira perder ainda mais competitividade nos mercados internacional e doméstico.
“Defendemos que a tecnologia 5G não seja uma só. Podemos ter rede privada e rede pública. Se não investirmos na modernização da indústria e das empresas brasileiras nós ficaremos fora do mercado”, disse.
“Precisamos disso para não só exportar, mas principalmente para competir dentro do Brasil com os nossos principais concorrentes”, acrescentou.
Para o presidente da CNI, os investimentos em inovação, em tecnologia e na qualificação de profissionais devem ser encarados pelos governos como prioridade. Segundo Robson Andrade, não existe possibilidade de criar um país forte e grande sem inovação.
“Para isso, contamos com a força da indústria da construção que é fundamental para o crescimento econômico, mas também para a saúde das pessoas e o desenvolvimento sustentável do país”, pontuou.
Reforma tributária levará segurança jurídica para atração de investimentos
Durante o painel, que também teve a presença do presidente da Câmara Brasileira da Indústria da Construção (CBIC), José Carlos Martins, e do diretor da empresa Vértice Engenharia, Elson Ribeiro e Povoa, o presidente da CNI ressaltou a importância de o Poder Legislativo aprovar a reforma tributária.
“Queremos uma reforma tributária, assim como o governo federal, os governos dos estados e o Congresso Nacional. A reforma levará segurança jurídica, atrairá investimentos e resultará no crescimento da indústria”, destacou Robson Andrade.
O presidente da CNI observou, no entanto, que é preciso que setores abram mão de benefícios imediatos e pensem numa agenda de país para que a reforma tributária avance.
“Os estados estão desajustados. Não poderá haver aumento de tributo. É claro que haverá perdedores e ganhadores, mas é preciso olhar para o Brasil como um todo. Podemos perder um pouco hoje para ganhar amanhã”, afirmou Robson Andrade.
